have updated the mail out tournament packages with the hotel
prices. Our recomm-endation would be the Best Western. It's
close to the Do-Jang for registrations on Friday night, and
is newly renovated. There is no restaurant in it, but they
are not that far away. You can also buy food and cook it on
their BBQ's that are just outside your rooms. The Podollan
is a nice hotel but the cheap rooms are almost all booked.
The Prestige is very nice and has restaurants in it. The
Holiday has a indoor waterslide, no restaurant in it, but
quite a few close by.... |

Make sure you mention Salmon Arm
Taekwondo and you will get the special rate. Also
there are 800 #'s to some of the hotels, but don't know if
they will give you the TKD rate unless you book with the
Salmon Arm phone #. Also have some web sites that you
might want to look at for the hotels. When you come into
town from the East, the first light you hit is 30th Street,
the is a McDonalds is to your right and a Tim Horton's to
your left, turn that way (left) for the tournament. Coming
in from the West the first light you hit has a Shell Station
on your right and a Ernie O's to you left, turn left and
then the first right, (right after the intersection) that is
Lakeshore Dr. follow it past Petro Canada and turn left (at
the Animal House) and go to the back for Registrations on
Friday night, or if arriving Saturday Morning go through
town to 2nd Tim Horton's (on your right) turn right and the
school is straight down. Hope all are enjoying

Master Jim Rennie will be hosting another
action filled visit to Korea and Thailand. The team will be

Will include Point & Olympic
Sparring, Individual & Team Forms. During opening ceremonies,
there will be a weapons demo, team one steps, musical forms,
Board Breaking and Self-defense. We also will have
demonstration events for pre-school children and new students.
Rings will be matted and there will be
electronic scoring. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
place plus medals for those competitors 11 and below.
"We will help mitigate
cost for Canadian's who come down. We'll offer to accept
Canadian money for the competition. If there is four or more
who would like to stay over, we'll help with their hotel
expense. If there is other ways in which we can make this
event more attractive, please let me know."

"We are attempting to provide a venue through
which black belt Taekwondoin of any dan rank can display their
skills in all major areas of Taekwondo while ensuring that the
best overall Taekwondoin are rewarded for their hard work and
dedication to the art. Competitors are encouraged to
participate in all 4 competition categories; hosinsul, kyokpa,
poomse and kyorugi in order to give a good, well-rounded
showing of their skills. To further this aim, we have created
a new division; the 4/40 division. This division is open all
Taekwondoin 40 years of age and older who are of at least 4th
dan rank. It is our hope that many of those who feel they are
past traditional kyorugi or poomse competition will once again
experience the thrill of competition with their peers and put
on a show for the younger black belts! "
